Islington Safeguarding Children Board (ISCB) is a multi-agency body responsible for ensuring that agencies work well together to safeguard and protect children and young people from harm and improve outcomes for children and young people. 

In conjunction with local sports organisations, clubs and Islington’s Leisure & Sport Department, ISCB have formed a Sports Safeguarding Children Network. This network has produced a sample Safeguarding (Child Protection) Policy for Sports Clubs. The network have also produced some short guides for Parents and Carers who wish to involve young people in sports activities. ISCB has also produced Good and Safer Recruitment Guidelines which sports clubs can use when recruiting staff and volunteers.

The child protection in sport unit have created some useful video clips to help people involved with club sport to tackle child protection, there aim is to ensure that children and young people take part in sports activities in an environment that makes their welfare the top priority – so they can stay safe, enjoy and achieve.
