What restrictions are there on me applying?
If you are applying for an individual grant you must be living in the borough, sports clubs and groups must be based in the borough (play or train in the borough) and must be open to Islington residents.
How can I apply?
You need to be a member of Sport Islington to apply for grant funding, please go to the Register tab on the left side of this page.
How much can I apply for?
Sport Islington has 4 broad areas of funding; £500 for clubs and groups £1000 for sports clubs who have the Clubmark standard or equivilant, £500 for Individuals competing at county level or above within their chosen sport and a new bursary in collaboration with SportsAid which offers individuals competing at a national level the chance to apply for £1000.
How do I become a member of Sport Islington?
Once you register with us you are considered to be a member, your information will be added to the sport Islington database and your club will be invited to attend the SportIslington agm and join the board.
What does being a member mean?
Membership of Sport Islington can open up lots of doors to individuals and groups, apart from being able to apply for funding you will be able to access information on a variety of sports related topics, you will be able to view our members area where there is further information on courses, accreditation and resources for developing your sports club.
How do I become a member if I do not have access to the internet or email?
SportIslington encourages individuals and groups to embrace new technologies to further the development of sport and physical activity. If any potential members would like advice on how to become a member online they can call 020 7527 1868 and ask about membership of SportIslington.
Applying for a club with Clubmark status
Sports clubs who have achieved clubmark standard can apply for grants of upto £1000. This grant is also open to clubs who have gained equivilant standards including; Charter Standard (Football) and Swim21 (Swimming). For further information on Clubmark please click here
