School-Club Link Pack
Welcome to the Islington School-Club Link Development Page. The following process has been developed by Islington School Sports Partnership (SSP) & Sport Islington, to help establish and support a formal link between sports clubs and local schools in Islington.
Why is it important to have a pack in place for schools and clubs?
The school-club link pack is important as it allows the school and the club to agree a formal way of supporting each other. The pack will encourage a closer working relationship between the clubs and schools involved. Clubs will have to deliver sports, with minimum operating standards and schools will be encouraged to sign-post their cohort to the clubs activities.
What are the benefits of completing this agreement?
Clubs that succesfully complete this pack, will be able to apply to Sport Islington for £250 in grant funding for their activities that are linked to the relevant school. Clubs that link up with more than one school are eligible to apply for additional grants for every school they link with. Schools will be able to work with a quality sports deliverer, who operates to required standards and within National Frameworks. Schools can be confident that their pupils are receiving quality coaching with staff that hold appropriate qualifications in recognised sports activities.
I am a club and I want to work with a school to develop this link
If you are currently delivering activities on a school site, we recomend that you approach the Head of PE/PE Specialist (Primary School) to discuss this initiative. If you are interested in delivering activities on a school site that you are currently not using, then we suggest that you arrange a meeting with the bookings manager in the 1st instance to discover which clubs are currently operating at the chosen school, then arrange a meeting with the Head of PE/PE Specialist (Primary School).
