Sport Islington Grant Recipient Yasmin Campbell: Start of Season Update

BYC 2013 001The season started well with Yasmin being selected to represent England in the UK School Games in September. At 14 years of age, Yasmin received a bronze medal in the individual  event, a very good result  as both silver and gold medallist were 18. She went on to help the fencing team win gold in the team event. Since then Yasmin has competed in a National under 17 event were she won the gold medal. Yasmin is   still ranked at number 1 in the UK in both under 15’s and under 17’s .

At her most recent international event she came second, taking her European ranking up to 24, which means she is very likely to qualify for the Worlds and European championships.

Yasmin has an additional goal this season which is to qualify for the youth commonwealth games which will be in held in Cape Town July 2015.
