Club Development Courses for £5

SportIslington are currently offering our members who work with clubs and groups in Islington the chance to attend a number of useful courses for only £5. The courses are being organised by the Access to Sports project and the £5 places are limited and only offered on a 1st come 1st serve basis. The courses below are running in the New Year:

• Equity in your coaching: Thursday 07/01/2010, 6.30-9.30pm at the Sobell Leisure Centre.

• A Guide to mentoring sports coaches: Tuesday 12/01/2010, 6.30-9.30pm at the Sobell Leisure Centre.

• Introduction to Long Term Athlete Development: Monday 15/02/2010, 6.30-9.30pm at the Sobell Leisure Centre.

• How to Coach Disabled People in Sport: Monday 08/03/2010, 6.30-8.30pm at the Sobell Leisure Centre.

• Child Protection and good working practice: Monday 15/03/2010, 6.30-9.30pm at the Sobell Leisure Centre.

• Funding for your sports club: Friday 19/03/2010, 6.30-9.30pm at the Sobell Leisure Centre.

• A club for all: Monday 22/03/2010, 6.30-9.30pm at the Sobell Leisure Centre.

Members will need to book through Andy or Michelle at the  Access to Sport Project on 0207 686 8812. Members will need to Quote ‘SportIslington’, the club in which they represent (Islington based) and their sportislington.co.uk username.

Club and Coach Development Courses 

The following courses are for coaches and club members who have an interest in furthering the development of their sport or club. Courses are run throughout London at easily accessible venues. http://www.pro-activelondon.org/workshops

Bursaries available for future 2012 officials

Do you want to officiate at the 2012 Olympics? Have you ever fancied refereeing, umpiring or scoring at sports events that interest you? If so: Official Sports  London is offering individuals (aged 16+) the chance to receive financial assistance towards completing sports officiating courses and a minimum of 15 hours of officiating experience.
